The Company enjoyed a successful affiliation with HMS Torbay over many years, and the Commanding Officer of the boat at the time the affiliation began is now a member of the Company’s Court. Members of the Company attended her decommissioning ceremony in Plymouth in July 2017.
A new affiliation with HMS Anson, the fifth Astute-class nuclear-powered fleet submarine of the Royal Navy, was signed by the Master and Anson’s Senior Naval Officer in October 2018. The Company followed keenly the progress of her construction and the Master was delighted to be present at the commissioning ceremony in Barrow-in-Furness in August 2022.
Each year the Company presents a Trainee of the Year Award to one of the boat’s crew.
